Always enhancing their service for loyal and new customers, Western Union added an even more convenient and faster offering sending money in Minutes to Africaas an added service to retain the existing customer base and build new customer relationships with the ‘instant’ element of the service. Our role was to plan and implement an engaging and emotive campaign for the product awareness, customer acquistion and customer retention.
Despite of Western Union global growth, Africa was not growing and Western Union wanted to raise its profile to targeted African community in the UK that include: Uganda, South Africa, Botswana, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Zambia and many others.
A multi-faceted approach was devised by engaging the targeted market in their own communities demploying community leaders, brand ambassadors and Promota community experts.
We decided a guerilla and grass-root marketing campaigns which included recruiting community consultants, sign-up community shops as Western union agents…
In just over a month, we reached out to more than 20,000 Africans through community events. Within a year we had reached our target of 255 growth. We retained the contract for 7 years.
